Dear Lilly,
I hope you are fine! The other day while walking in Baixa (Lisbon downtown) I stumbled upon this tuk tuk with this cute tiled design and I couldn’t avoid taking a picture of it. That kind of details is everywhere around here and that’s what makes me feel in love with this city!!! I had never had a ride in a tuk tuk yet, I think it is because I believe that the best way to know Lisbon is walking around through its side streets, climbing up and down its hills and exploring each corner of it. But I should admit that for someone with limited mobility, explore the city inside a tuk tuk can be quite convenient. Although it can be a little expensive, as far as I know. Anyway, I liked this tuk tuk design. It has the mood of this city! That’s it! I would be very happy if I got postcards back from you too!!! Think about it!!!
Love, Cris

Dear friend, sorry for not writing any postcards for such a long time!!! I can’t believe my last post was from January! I’m a little disappointed in myself that I couldn’t stick to my promise to write to you more often. Anyway, life is hard sometimes, especially when you are living in a different country and everything is new to you. Organizing a new life is taking more time than I imagined it would take. This postcard is a little game I would like to play with you! Let’s see if you have the observant eye I believe you have! From what building is this fish scale facade in Lisbon? Waiting anxiously for your answer! xoxo Cris

PS: In fact, I’m not sure if you have visited this area when you visited Lisbon, so I will let this question open to the blog readers so they can give you a hint or even a little help!

LX Factory

Dear Lilly,
How are things going on? Everything is fine around here! Busy days spending working and studying! But occasionally I take a day off to explore different places. This is LX Factory! Did you hear about it when you were in Lisbon? It excelled my expectations! LX Factory takes place in an old industrial complex in Alcantara neighborhood. This complex hosted in 1846 the Companhia de Fiação e Tecidos Lisbonense (Lisbon Company of Spinning and Weaving). Later, business related to the printing industry occupied the area and since 2008 the complex started operating as a creative hub. There you can find fashion, advertising, multimedia, art and many other professionals and companies doing their business. I loved the concept of this place! The public can enjoy nice restaurants, cafes, and stores. Street art color the facades bringing a relaxed mood to the buildings. Pipes and pieces of machinery take an important part in the decoration, preserving the industrial atmosphere and alluding to the place’s history. We walked through the streets, had lunch in Rio Maravilha, ate a delicious chocolate cake in Landau and visited the bookstore Ler Devagar. Next time you are in Lisbon you must visit it! That’s all by now! Miss you girl!! Xoxo Cristina

Dear Lilly,

I hope everything is fine! I’m so glad you liked my first postcard!! This encourages me to keep posting. There are so many interesting things to see around here that I don’t know what to see first. The other day while exploring the region close to Praça dos Restauradores (Restauradores Square), I stumbled upon this scenery. This is so Lisbon, isn’t it? At that moment I didn’t know I was photographing a National Monument, the Ascensor da Glória (Glória Lift). It operates since 1885 and goes up to Bairro Alto just next to Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara. I’m just planning a ride in it soon. Maybe next weekend, if it is not so cold! Those days have been really freezing, although the sun is always shining. Well, I’ve got to go! Love you! XoXo, Cris

Dear Lilly,

I wish I had written to you before. I was planning to buy postcards and send you by mail, but then I realized I don’t have your address since you moved recently. Does anybody still write postcards nowadays? Well, anyway, I decided to post your postcards here, I hope you don’t mind. I’m so delighted with this city. The first time I came here on vacation with my family I didn’t realize how beautiful and  charming this city is. And those yellow trams, they are so photogenic that I just can’t stop taking pictures of them.  I hope you like this photo and the idea of receiving those online postcards.Well, even if you don’t get too much interested I will keep posting it anyway. : )  Love, Cris
